n September 2024, our team had the incredible opportunity to visit Green River Distillery in Owensboro, KY, to select a special barrel just for Shores Liquor. The experience was one to remember, with the highlight being the top two contenders from the barrel lineup—both pulled from the highest floors of Green River’s metal rickhouses. These barrels stood out for their unique flavor profiles, crafted by the heat and conditions of those upper levels. All other rickhouses at Green River are built on clay, giving these metal rickhouse barrels a distinct edge.
Our team had an amazing time exploring the distillery, learning about the art of barrel aging, and of course, tasting some fantastic whiskey. We can’t wait for you to try this selection, which will be available in Shores locations this December or January.
